Within the rectangular boundaries of Colorado there appear to be five distinct regions, each with its own history, geography, and economy. Each region commands a certain loyalty from its citizens and has its own ideas about how things should be done. The Five States of Colorado reveals the regions within the man-made boundaries, whose cultures and economies have evolved from the land and its history.
